RCIA at St Mary's and St John Bosco
If you are interested in becoming a Catholic or want to deepen your understanding of what it means to be a Catholic the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) can provide an excellent opportunity for faith enrichment.
The Parish Community of St. Mary’s and St John Bosco welcomes
you to contact us if you may be interested in joining our RCIA
programme. RCIA is the Journey in Faith programme which many Catholic
Churches use to help people find out more about the Church and discover
what it means to be a Catholic.
RCIA stands for Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults and it is a gradual process which is divided into five stages.
The first stage is where the person interested in becoming a Catholic
makes their initial enquiry and wants to find out more.
During the next stage the enquirer becomes a Candidate, and enters a period of more intense learning, study, formation and prayer. The Rite of Election is a special service which marks the entry into this second stage.
During the third stage you will become part of the worshiping community
of our Parish, coming to Mass each week and participating in Parish
events.
During the last two stages which occur over the Easter period you will
be welcomed as a full member of the Catholic Church.
