Shoeboxes for the Apostleship of the Sea (Stella Maris)
Ian and Trevor delivered seventy-seven shoeboxes to the Apostleship of the Sea (Stella Maris) on Tuesday 14th December. Also two large bags of hand knitted hats. These were most gratefully received by Steve and Bryony who operate the Chaplaincy at Immingham. They have been supporting seafarers as they arrive but all too often are not allowed off the ship for safety reasons. The captain cannot afford an outbreak of Covid on-board. Some have been afloat for nine months or more without any time off the ship living in often harsh conditions.
The shoeboxes offer a welcome relief in the knowledge that they are not forgotton and we do care about their wellbeing.
Please keep the seafarers in your prayers. A huge thanks to the magnificant efforts of St Mary's and St John Bosco and St Puis X Parishes.
